Slow Food Night at Zuzul, featuring the Espelette Pepper

  • Zuzul Coastal Cuisine 1370 East 70th Street Shreveport, LA, 71105 United States (map)

Zuzul Coastal Cuisine will host Slow Food North Louisiana for dinner service September 13. Slow Food USA and its local chapters are a driving force for food justice at the local, national and international level. We believe in uniting the joy of food with the pursuit of justice. We are committed to transforming the world to guarantee good, clean and fair food for all. Zuzul Coastal Cuisine is committed to the Slow Food mission.

That evening, Chef-Owner Gabriel Balderas and Chef Roger Peterson will create a dish featuring the espelette pepper, listed on the Slow Food Ark of Taste, a registry of nearly extinct foods that are being identified and celebrated to save them.

Chef Peterson’s family farm, Learning Legacies, will be supplying the pepper, which grows well in our area.

Let’s regenerate and heal our food systems together. Become a member of Slow Food USA. Local members will be on hand at Zuzul Coastal Cuisine on September 13 to share information about local programming and details on how to become a member. Or you can join today at Slow Food USA (select North Louisiana as your chapter).
