Slow Food North Louisiana firmly believes in the power of collaboration. We have many like-minded regional organizations we proudly call partners. Many belong to the We Grow Together! coalition, working to bring about a healthy local food system for the ArkLaTex, of which Slow Food is a founding partner.

  • LSU AgCenter

    The LSU AgCenter exists to develop and deliver practical, useful, life-enhancing information to the citizens of Louisiana. We especially love their Louisiana Vegetable Planting Guide.

    Red River Coalition of Community Gardeners

    RRCCG is an organization of individuals in Northwest Louisiana who value good nutrition and health. They work together to share and celebrate the power of community to create a better world. They believe that community gardens are focal points of neighborhood where the seeds of healthy families and communities can be planted and nourished.

    Northwest Louisiana Master Gardeners

    The mission of the Louisiana Master Gardener volunteer program is to support the LSU AgCenter’s Cooperative Extension Service by using research-based information to help educate the public on best management practices in consumer horticulture and environmental stewardship.

    Shreveport Green

    Shreveport Green is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting a healthy, sustainable, and economically vital community through public outreach, community enhancement, and a specific respect for the natural and built environment. They bring locally grown foods to Shreveport residents through their Mobile Market program, and with their ShreveCorps members they plant gardens in schools in Caddo Parish.

    LSUS Master of Public Health Program

    The Master of Public Health is a joint degree program offered by LSU Shreveport and LSU Health Shreveport and fully accredited by the Council on Education in Public Health. This program is designed for aspiring students seeking to address public health issues with evidence-based approaches.

    MLK Health Center & Pharmacy

    The Mission of the MLK Health Center & Pharmacy is to extend comprehensive primary healthcare and pharmacy services at no cost to uninsured patients with chronic illness who otherwise often forgo routine medical care because of a lack of resources.
